Ask how often reassessments occur, who performs them and how much notice is given before a fee changes.
Medication management
Medication reminders, ordering, storage and administration can involve separate charges. Clarify what the community is licensed and staffed to do, whether outside pharmacy costs are separate, and how medication changes affect the bill.
Memory care
Memory care is not simply a label for all assisted living residents with forgetfulness. A dedicated program may have secured areas, added supervision, specialized activities and different staffing. Ask whether memory care is a separate monthly package and what happens if needs increase.
One-time and optional charges
Communities may charge a move-in or community fee.
